It's all about what's good for the US economically, strategically or even as a way to control its own internal image (why else support Israel and promote their slow annexation of the West Bank while grossly violating human rights laws, then joining in by moving the US embassy to Jerusalem?). Remember, Reagan got a pass on Iran-Contra. We sell arms to Saudi Arabia, who uses them on Yemeni children. We are all that has ever mattered.
